Question: What kind of floors do your buildings have and what are they made of?
Answer: We start our floors with pressure treated lumber (skids), on top of those, we use 2 x 6 floor joist set on 16 inch centers. To that we, attach ¾" BC exterior grade plywood.

Question: Are all buildings built on site or do you deliver?
Answer: We prefer to build on site to allow for last minute changes and to reduce potential yard damage, however, delivery is available.

Question: My yard is not exactly level, will this be a problem?
Answer: Not a problem. We use concrete pads set below the pressure treated lumber (skids). The pads are set no greater than 8 feet a part. These become our piers and we continue to block until the building is level. This prevents any untreated wood from touching the ground.

Question: What about termites?
Answer: With concrete block as the base, the next layer of protection is your pressure treated skids. This substantially reduces the possibility of damage by termites.

Question: What will I have to do to maintain my building?
Answer: Steel-skinned buildings require no painting and are guaranteed to not require paint for up to 30 years.
Wood-sided structures require painting and caulking similar to what you would do for your home.

Question: Which is a better choice, steel or wood siding?
Answer: Both have pro's and con's. If you want a virtually maintenance-free building, then we recommend a steel-sided building. Many customers choose a wood-sided building to meet residential requirements and to blend more with the design of their home.

Question: What kind of warranty do I get with a building from Alamo Buildings?
Answer: You get all of the warranties from the manufacturer, plus you get a free 5- year workmanship warranty. Many of our competitors only offer warranties covering the building components not workmanship.
In other words, at least a 40-year warranty for the pressure treated lumber, for our steel-sided buildings, the manufacturer warranty is for 30-years. Doors, windows, and other type of siding on other components that come with warranties will be installed so that the warranty carries over to you. .

Question: Can I get a building built on a concrete slab?
Answer: Absolutely! We can provide the concrete work or build on a pre-existing slab. All pre-existing slabs are inspected prior to construction in order to insure a quality constructed building.

Question: How are the walls constructed? What are they made of?
Answer: Our 2 x 4 studs are set no greater than 24 inches apart. The exterior is sided with steel or the siding of your choice. Many builders construct their buildings on 30 inch centers. Some of our competitors build their buildings on 30+ inch centers. Be sure to check out our color chart too. Select colors for walls, trim and roof.

Question: Do you build finished buildings?
Answer: Sure! Alamo Buildings can design your building to include paneling, light and bathroom fixtures, carpeting, insulation and more!.
